Between 2012 and 2016 I volunteered at the Moving Image Research Collections at the University of South Carolina. I graduated from the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation in 2017. I presented a poster at AMIA 2017 in New Orleans dealing with a technique I created for resurrecting as a font a style of hand-lettering used in intertitles by a specific film company in 1917. I am interning at the Huntley Film Archives in Herefordshire until the week before the Colour in Film conference. I have a fascination with film formats, gauges, technology and color processes of all kinds, the chemistry and decomposition of film, and the reconstruction of films using multiple, disparate copies. I am impressed by new color restoration techniques grounded deeply in scientific and historical research, and I would like to be involved in this groundbreaking area. I am developing a technique for extracting color information from greyscale scans of lenticular color film, which has had imperfect, though extremely promising results thus far.
